I was just wondering. What are the stats for the number of white, asian, hispanic, etc... who applied this year?

Asian American: 35.3%
White/Other: 32.1%
Chicano/Latino: 17.8%
Filipino American: 4.8%
Declined to State: 4.8%
African American: 4.6%
American Indian: 0.5%

whoa the number of asians applying declined.

percentage-wise, but the numbers increased.

if you like asians come here

i dont want to much asians

then go somewhere else!

we dont want you.

^

LOL! Calm down, Emmeline!

hahahah! its cause alot of schools in CA are largely asian and alot of those schools are big feeders to LA and Cal like Arcadia, San Marino, etc

lol. im asian myself , but sorry if i offended anyone.

Cool...Filipinos get their own category! (I am half Flip btw) Wait...so are Filipinos considered Asian or Pacific Islander or just Filipino?

if you like people, come to ucla

Not true. Only a few, but those schools are predominately Asian.
NorCal: Lincoln, Lowell
SoCal: SGV schools

I wouldn't consider Arcadia and San Marino "big feeders". They do send a lot of kids to UCLA, but they're not top 5. I think SMHS (santa monica high school) sends more. :)

Boelter - its not just san gabriel valley. it's like peninsula, torrance, mira costa, etc (south bay) also have many asians.

well maybe not like the ridiculous 90% or wtvr arcadia is, but pen was a healthy like 40% or something, and we sent, like 30 something people to ucla? besides, in general asians cant get into places like mit or hpsy as easily as other people.

Sigh. Race/Ethnicity is such a controversial topic to touch. I really could care less how many insert race here_ people got into which university. After all, it all comes down to what you turn out to be in the end.

There does seem to be a diversity of inconsiderate and benevolent people.
I still cannot believe that this girl saw me walking one foot away from the door and while she was coming out of the door, push the door backwards so that I would have to swipe to get in. Some people actually hold the door open for you but whatever. I didn't know opening doors for people is a competitive process. There is my rant for the day.

she probably thought you were some robber coming in afterwards to steal a couch from the lounge lol

Haha. Nah. If I really wanted a couch, I could just take one from the lounge.

Not like I would.

yea people pee on them or something.

She was probably pre-med.

ew, I've slept on those couches! And although I hear about super-competitive pre-med people all the time, that's the first I heard since I've gotten here.
