Does UCLA have events similar to UCSD SunGod? What are some big events at UCLA for students to attend?

I don’t think any of the UCs have anything similar to Sun God, but there are traditions like underwear run and stuff. Still, not as exciting as UCSD’s festivals. They need it to save their reputation though. Hahah just kidding. PS: Did you go this past Friday?

There’s Bruin Bash at the beginning of the year. Last year ■■■■■ and Clipse performed. This one is free for UCLA students only.
There’s also the Jazz and Reggae Festival held this memorial weekend. Nas, Q-Tip, Raphael Saadiq, Damien Marley & more are performing. This one is open to public and you pay for ticks.
Also, Jay-z, NERD, Wale, and J Cole performed last year. It was UCLA student pre-sale for $60 then open to general public after.

I like UCR’s concert series though.
I’ve seen NERD, New Boyz, Steve Aoki (<3), Nas, and Murs in 3 different concerts for $free.99

ucd has picnic day! thats pretty sungod like.

ucsb gets crazy on halloween. They celebrate for 3 days in a row!

ucla doesnt have any crazy big event but im planning to just go down to SD for sungod next year. its only 1 hour 30 min drive! 95mph all the way! haha

@ edelynly no i did not go to the event on friday. what was on friday?
@ erikuh, whats bruin bash like?
@ guitarfrk123 yeah it seems like they dont have any crazy big events. i was just browsing around happenings.ucla.edu and there isnt much BIG events. jazz music and arent really interesting and i do find it boring.

Friday was Sun God

I don’t think any of the UCs have anything similar to Sun God

UCSB has a similar spring music festival called Extravaganza.

Hey you’ll be in LA, there’s enough things to do away from campus =)

Bruinbash includes a concert, and then either a movie screening or “dance party”.

Movie last year was that one with Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx (before it was out for general public). I didn’t go so I don’t remember the name. The DJ at the dance was pretty good though, and the concert was fun.

What else do we have? Some volunteer day and other stuff I didn’t attend, but before school starts there is a lot of stuff going on. I don’t think anything gets really big here. Maybe because it’s in the city and there is already so much to do? I dunnnoooo.

ohh ucsb also has floatopia! Party on the beach! Id love to go to that next year

didn’t they cancel that? I went and it was more gross than anything, but, you know, whatever lifts your luggage.

why was it gross? conceptually, it sounds pretty cool haha

Oh, I just didn’t like the beach there! I thought it was ugly and it made the whole scene ugly… plus there were a lot of unattractive people there I did not need to see in swim suits bahahahaha but I’m mean… and I wasn’t drunk… I bet lots of alcohol makes the scene prettier.

haha! sopheee. ugly people, ugly scene makes the whole thing unattractive. :P

also, there’s always coachella nearby :)
