UCLA Fall '20 Transfer Waitlist Thread

Accepted!!

Received email @ 6:58 am June 4th to check portal!

Major: Geography
GPA: 3.26
Good luck to the rest!! This is my dream school and will be submitting my SIR!!!

I am still holding out hope, but I fear that this year’s waitlist, similar to the previous year’s waitlist, won’t be too gracious to pre-political science majors ):

I don’t understand it ):

Like, not a single political science major? Why even waitlist us if they never accept people from our major.

It’s odd because political science is literally the second greatest major at UCLA too smh. You would assume a great chunk of political science majors would get off. It is what it is though.

I’m in the same boat as a nursing major. Idk why they have a waitlist when they hardly ever use it. The freshmen waitlist for the nursing school wasn’t even used because the cohort was full (they accept 50 freshmen) and they only accept 10 transfers for the nursing program so idk why there’s even a waitlist when almost every person admitted will accept their offer.

Im a sociology major, and I got waitlisted at UCLA. I applied to all 9 UC campuses, and got in everywhere, except Berkeley- and of course waitlisted at UCLA. I’ve sent in my SIR to UCI but I can’t help but feel hopeful about getting off of UCLA’s waitlist.

I completed all of my pre-reqs and got my AA in soc from my community college. I didn’t realize that UCLA was sending out waitlist decisions, so now im super anxious about it.

Question, when UCLA sends out the notification email to check the portal, do they also send out an email when you don’t get in within the same wave? Or do they wait until later to send out emails notifying you that you did not get off the waitlist?

Does anyone got accepted to Pre Business Economics major?

Do they accept in waves by major or by college?

I am waitlisted on pre business econ and have not get any email. Maybe they’ll send either this week or next week. Update here when you got accepted guys

For those who were admitted off the waitlist, how many days are you given to commit? Is it 3 days? I saw on the freshmen thread that they were given 3 days to commit after receiving their acceptance off the waitlist and was wondering if it was the same for transfers!

I was accepted on June 3rd and had until June 8th to commit. That’s about 3 business days, so I guess they don’t count the weekends.

I was accepted off the waitlist for Global Studies yesterday.
3.75 GPA, UC-UC transfer, In-state.

I think business economics have not heard since there’s a lot of people who applied and there might be a huge wave some day. I guess they have waves in every 3 days?

Most biz Econ/ Econ heard back around end of June last year. Som e of my friends got off the waitlist mid-July even early August last year.

I wonder if there is still hope for psych majors? It seems like they already took psych majors off the waitlist though, so maybe I should move on. Plus I have a 3.59 gpa and I don’t have too many ECs. I also felt like my essays could have been better. I wrote a lot in the waitlist opt in box (almost 7000 characters) which I thought would help me. However, I am not sure anymore. I also received 2 B’s and 2 A’s in my first semester this year so I am thinking they might not like that I got B’s.

Does anyone know if we still get those welcome packets in the mail as a waitlisted transfer student if we accept our offer?

Yes you do! (source– last year’s thread)

Is there anyone get noticed about ot?

To all the people still on the waitlist, don’t lose hope yet because last year people were still getting off the waitlist in August.

@Waitlist2020 @uclahopeful4 I agree with you. For those, like myself, who are on the waitlist, don’t lose hope. When I spoke to one of the representatives from the undergrad admissions, they told me that the SIR deadline was moved to June 2nd at 11:59 p.m. Technically, we have about three days now instead of four. I have hope for all majors, especially political science. Don’t doubt and I know that us political science majors will hear something soon. My sister tells me everyday that you will be okay and that don’t think negative, I know we will hear something soon. Seeing the list of College of Letters of Science is actually bigger than I thought. So please, don’t lose hope! Have faith and everything will be fine.
