UCLA Fall '20 Transfer Waitlist Thread

I think a huge number will get in due to the COVID fallout. You can’t base it on previous years.

@Ohm888 I agree with you. We cannot determine the amount of people getting off from the waitlist based on the previous years. I know there is hope for all of us

So, I remember looking at previous threads that if a waitlisted student got off before June 15th, they could still get guaranteed housing. Is that still the case for this year?

Congrats to everyone who got off the waitlist! For those of you that have gotten off, were you TAP certified?

Political science major here, still nothing :frowning:

Will they atleast let us know if we didn’t get in?

I just saw someone on the FB UCLA Transfer page, that a POLISCI major got off the waitlist this week. I think this is good news for us POLISCI majors.

@wvc2020 I just seen that as well. The girl that got off also said she was a ccc transfer, Foothill College to be exact. Hopefully this might be a good sign. Fingers crossed!

Could you send a link to the facebook post I would love to join!

@lwt2020 The group’s name is UCLA Fall 2020 transfers.

Are you an insider? Do you know if there is any hope left for psych majors? I saw some psych majors already got off the waitlist. Do we have to wait for those people to accept/decline to know if we have a chance?

So that means there are people getting off the waitlist that haven’t posted on here. That’s a little scary because I wish I could know exact numbers for exact majors

@Waitlist2020 no ? I am not an insider. I’m only going by what every university appears to be saying if you do a google search. Across the country high numbers are getting in via waitlists.

Accepted the morning of June 3rd, the only email was from financial aid that said congratulations for UCLA etc etc. I never received a portal-update-status email. However, I checked manually on my portal and received an acceptance as well. Since June 3rd, my application for SIR is June 8th. June 8th is when housing is due so they probably made the due date intentionally.

For those waiting, I talked to a 10-year UCLA admission reader. She said there is no pattern of who gets in with what major at whichever week. Simply, if spots are available, they will update asap (typically within a whole major, obviously) So my point being, try not to use previous years as an estimation. If anything, COVID has opened more spots than before. Best of luck everyone!

GUYS!!! I am a POLITICAL SCIENCE MAJOR.

I GOT MY EMAIL OF THE FINANCIAL AID OFFICE CONGRATULATING ME!!!

Next thing you know, I got the update on my portal. MY TWIN AND I ARE BOTH GOING WOOHHOOOOOO!

Got accepted from the waitlist the morning of June 6th. Everything on the portal is past due and I’m pretty tied up with UCSD, but UCLA has been a goal of mine and I’m heavily weighing my options now. If this doesn’t mess with financial aid/housing/IGETC too much I might switch over and enroll.

I am in for Political Science too!!!

I AM SO HAPPY. FINALLY MY SISTER AND I ARE GOING TOGETHER.

My GPA is 3.69 currently but now that I got my three A’s, it is going to be higher

Don’t lose hope, like I said before. We POLITICAL SCIENCE MAJORS HAVE THIS CHANCE TOO

Hey guys!! Just found this thread a couple days ago and I was looking around for political science major and JUST GOT MY ACCEPTANCE THIS MORNING!! I’ve already submitted my SIR to UCI but I’m highly considering UCLA and because neither of the school offered me financial aid, I’m really only making this decision based on which school would be best for me based on my major and what I want to do.

Can any of the other political science major help me out and just tell me why you guys think UCLA would be good for our major?

ALSO, congrats to those who got off the waitlist!! we really did that!!

@dcruz0625 yes. CONGRATS TO YOU. It’s an amazing school I can tell you that. If you go to Rate My Professor, you can search up the professors and lots of people have said that they are great people.
