UCLA Fall '20 Transfer Waitlist Thread

Nope. I called the admissions office and a lady told me you don’t send anything unless it is asked of you. Students still on the waitlist don’t send their transcripts.

Did she tell you that admin will extend the waitlist deadline?..

I submitted my transcript yesterday through Credentials still even though I am still waiting…

I asked them because my school finished after June 15. The lady told me they wont access any document even you have submitted something

I am a Pre-psychology major, and I am from UCD. GPA: 3.84 now. I am still waiting for the response. I wonder whether it’s because I submitted my response pretty late though. I also emailed the admission team, and they say that they are still admitting a small number of students after July.

Im from CC but currently live in Davis area lol…

Thank you for the clarification, but I submitted anyhow. lol

Dang this thread really died…

It makes me feel so sad and hopeless ):

Just keep some hope together. I know some same majors from my college rescind their offer but I havent seen anyone who got off as my major…I just wonder if they will inform us that wl is extended to July or here is the end.

But we have to move on. Since I have nothing else to do, cannot get offcampus job as an IS, I approach some profs for research opportunities. Even though I may have to apply this yr again, I need research experiences any way…

I swear if I could get off wl I will definitely apply to be a student worker at undergrad admin office helping wl students. This situation is so HARD for all of us but we just dont have enough accurate inf and support.

Look, I know this may not be the kind of news you guys want to hear right now, but if UCLA truly is your dream university, you owe it to yourself to spend one more year to strengthen your application.

Of course, it’s my great hope that each one of you get accepted off the waitlist this year, but if that turns out not to be the case, believe me when I say it’s not the end of the world.

I applied to UCLA a grand total of three times before getting accepted off of the waitlist on my third attempt. Once in high school and two times in community college.

After my second rejection from UCLA, I decided to give it my all and seriously reinvent myself during my third year at CC. I was active in my college’s honors program (UCLA TAP) and took as many UC transferable courses each semester that I was confident I could earn all A’s in, including Summer and Winter sessions.

I feel that my third year at CC has allowed me to greatly mature as a student and develop a whole new outlook on academics and community service.

I absolutely understand that an optional third year is not for everybody. I was fortunate enough to have a supportive family and group of friends to help me get through my third year in one piece.

All in all, I am very glad I decided to take on a third year and reapply to UCLA. Sure, I could have transferred to another UC last year, but I know deep inside that I’d always have regret for not allowing myself one more chance to attend my dream university.

To those of you who decide to transfer somewhere else, I wish you the best in all of your future endeavors. Regardless, we will all receive a high quality education and increase our quality of life for ourselves and others.

To those of you willing to take on an additional year, I wish you the best in all of your efforts. Maintain a 4.0 GPA in all of your courses, take summer and winter sessions if possible, and get involved in your CC’s honors program (UCLA TAP). Getting TAP certified can make a whole world of a difference in terms of increasing your chances of admission.

Best of luck to you guys! Have a great summer! ?

@Qwerty181 thanks for sharing that with us! For me, unfortunately, this was my third year already. I was going to apply last application cycle but decided to stay another year to strengthen my application. Now I find myself in this situation. I had an amazing turnout from this process as I got into 8 schools. This entire process has drained the life out of me so I will not be doing this again. I’m preparing for a rejection from my dream school.

To everyone else who just finished their second year, I recommend you follow Qwerty181’s advice and stay a third year! It really does help.

Wish we could have good results. For me the case is my CC doesnt have honor or TAP with UCLA lol.

@givmethemail same. My CC doesn’t have honors or TAP either.

The fact is TAP students have priority for admission…( at least twice likely

@uclahopeful4 @givmethemail @mikeslater Please do not give up! I know that it has been more than a month but I know that all of you have potential. I spoke to a Financial Aid representative today and they told me that they are really taking some time to process paperwork so I am assuming it goes the same for the Admissions office too. My sister and I tried two times on applying to UCLA. The first time didn’t work out for us because we were juniors in high school (graduated early) but we applied as freshmens. It didn’t work out since we also did community college so we tried again this year but this time completing the IGETC list and not the Honors program (we only took one honors class but that was it). It then worked for the both of us. So please, I know it is hard right now with the pandemic and everything but all I know is that you all have achieved way more than you expected. I’m really proud of all your hard work and determination.

@20ucla20 that was so encouraging. Thank you and congratulations on your acceptance!!

@uclahopeful4 I know you will get in and if not, don’t worry.
