55,000 freshman applications for a class of just over 4,700 new freshmen. We had to deny more than 42,300 applicants.

Wow, totally didn't meet any of the admissions numbers posted above. No wonder I was rejected.

So about 12000 admitted.

It's not the total # of people admitted .

Admit rate was about 23% this year .

yes it is Sequoia.

whoa! thanks for posting this

UCLA overenrolled last year. You'd think they'd accept fewer people this year, or at most the same amount as last year, but no -- last year they accepted just under 12,000, and this year, about 13,000 (total applicants: 55,369). Not sure what UCLA is doing, unless it wants to be as big as Michigan.

So if we assume that 13,000 were accepted, it's a 23.5% acceptance rate, up .2% from last year.

Thanks flopsy for the helpful link and info :)

they normally accept 6000k but had to cut it down due to budget problems

my gpa was way lower than what was stated. i wish they said something about extracirricular stuff

everything involving ur brain was lower for me. i'm so happy that i liked volunteering and being involved before i even knew that it mattered for college. my essay was probably the deciding factor tho

yay for overcrowded housing and dining halls (especially with rieber closing ***)

is the dining hall closing too???

wth did sat scores go down again? gpa is bs, grades are so subjective

those are some high gpas

(and some low test scores)

imho xD

ikr?

it means people who go to good high schools are shafted

i guess its "diversity"... of the iq kind

eh, whatever. Got me in, so Im not complaining.

Ever since holistic admissions started, UCLA's SAT scores have stagnated. We went from ~2020 to ~2010 and now ~2000.

its 2001. get your holistic facts straight.
lol

yeah rieber will be closed after next fall qtr. can you believe it? i don't know if they're opening something new (obviously not a new dining hall, but maybe like a rendezvous type) but thats not gonna offset the load
