Hello,
I have seen discussions regarding DESMA major for UCLA fall 2020 transfer, but could not find any discussions for art majors. Anyone applying for UCLA as an art major for fall 2020 as well? I am currently a student at a California community college and applied to UCLA as an art major. How far along is everyone on their portfolios? I’m curious about how other students are working on their portfolios. Also, I heard that UCLA art department reviews your portfolio first and if your portfolio is good enough, you are pretty much accepted and UCLA general admission only checks to make sure you got a 3.0 GPA at the end of the admission process. I’m not sure if this is true but does anyone know how our portfolios are reviewed?
@hamsterdumplings Hello! I am in the same boat as you. CCC Student and applied to transfer to the School of Arts and Architecture for their studio arts program. I have heard the same as you have! Hopefully our portfolios are good enough!
Have you received or heard of anyone receiving the invitation to the open house yet? I was wondering if anyone has gotten an email yet!
Hi,
I applied as a DESMA major for Fall 2020 but reviewing portfolios is pretty much all the same throughout Arts and Architecture. Decisions are essentially based on if they like your portfolio, and if they do, they just check to see if you meet the GPA requirement of 3.0. I went on a tour of the School of Arts and Architecture and they confirmed that this is basically how it is.
hey just wanted to check if anyone heard back from UCLA for the art major! I got in and I haven’t seen anyone but one other person receive admission to the program. ):
