Me too! @cccstudent32
If so, do you think getting grades for major prep courses taken during winter quarter can be a ground for the appeal?

Yes it does matter actually! If you’re completing major prereqs in the spring (right now), especially for a competitive major, it will have some effect on your decision. My friend was waitlisted from Business economics because he was completing managerial accouting in the spring. He called the admissions office and they told him, had he completed all major prereqs in the fall, he would’ve been accepted. It makes sense tho because they want to see solid letter grades for those prereqs. In the spring, you just have to earn a C- or better (they don’t count in your evaluation).
This simply is not true.
And why not?
Show one place where it says to complete required classes a full year before admissions? Because literally everywhere it says (on every single UC’s website) you must have all requirements completed by the spring.
What I meant was completing prereqs before application review. It DOES give you a competitive edge once you complete them in the fall because those are the grades they review (of course, after the transfer academic update, which are fall classes).
There are plenty of people on past threads and UCB’s current thread saying they were waitlisted/denied because major prerequisites are currently in progress. They actually called admissions!!
@jjfjmjim Exactly! Some majors will actually state this on their assist page. Like business economics.
It doesn’t matter if it’s a full year before admissions. That’s not even my point. Many freshmen who are currently at UCs complete major prereqs WAYYY BEFORE they even declare.

Winter grades should already be reported in the Transfer Academic Update (TAU).
Anyone in this thread from lmc or dvc?
Anyone on this thread from SCC, CRC, or ARC?

Winter quarter ended in March, after the TAU was due.

You can still update the TAU some UCs will see it but it’s just after the priority (mandatory) deadline

Priority deadline for TAU was Jan. 31, but they would’ve kept accepting updates until March.
Anyways…yes, I do think it would be positive if you did well in those classes and updated them on your opt-in form (form given to waitlisted applicants). That’s IF you get waitlisted.
I’m opposed to the idea of appeals on the other hand. The best school for you is the school that picks you.

@Bubonica i’m already preparing for the school that accepted me. but if the appeal doesn’t take much time, it won’t hurt to try
Hey everyone! If anyone could take the time to tell me my chances, I’d really appreciate it.
CC transfer
Major: Poli Sci
GPA: 3.66 as of now, will be 3.7+ after this spring, which I indicated on my additional notes with the TAU.
Major GPA: 4.0
IGETC done after this spring with 60 units
Essays: pretty solid, had plenty of people edit them, wrote about how politics gave me purpose as a first generation middle eastern immigrant (moved here in 2010), and how I turned my hardships into motivation.
ECs: interned for a house campaign, worked for a city council campaign, and organized for a presidential campaign. Currently work as a Registered behavior technician, a position that I earned with Hard work. Was also a part of a few clubs.
Hooks: First generation Iraqi, lived in war, learned English, battled mental health and social barriers, politics gave me purpose.
Weakness: GPA less than 25 percentile for poli sci, 15 units/60 still in progress, repetitive personal insight talking points.
Waiting: UCLA, UCSD, UCSB
Accepted: UCR with honors, UCD, Berkeley
Is harder to get in UCLA or UCB for computer science? I got rejected by UCB
I’m worried about tomorrow
How does UCLA not say anything about when admissions are coming out lol
