UCLA Fall 2020 Transfer Thread

I have friends that live in berkely and stay with them alot. I hate the feel of the place. They convinced me to apply anyway and said I could live rent free with them. I was almost thankful when I got declined haha

as someone who took three (!!!) tours of UCLA and barely has any recollection because they were all years ago (going to school kinda near LA will warrant many field trips), I can tell you that it is the most COLLEGE campus I’ve visited. like it has that college feel. not sure if that makes sense.

this is so weird, because i usually hear the opposite. people say that berkeley and davis are more college towns where it seems like everyone is a student. meanwhile, the only college feel of ucla comes from the actual school itself since beverly hills and westwood arent full of only college students

I was just talking about the campus itself lol, not the town, I don’t have much experience around LA other than going to auditions

I live in L.A, I am quite familiar with Westwood. There is a TON to do out here. Nightlife is very lively and there always seems to be events going on during the weekend. There is a farmers market every wed morning on the promenade. Westwood is the LGBT epicenter of Los Angeles, people are kinda snobby around here too tho as most are people out here have money. Traffic is always bad too, but youll never be bored out here.

Trust me, UCLA is sucha college city. Everyone there is young af lol atleast that’s how I feel every time I go out there.

im there every month bc my sister goes there and we like to visit her and i see what you mean. i just dont know how much it would seem like a college city compared to somewhere like berkeley.

This makes me wish that I had the chance to visit Berkeley. TBH I never thought I’d even get accepted to Berkeley that’s why I never bothered. And idk why I’m still so nervous about UCLA decision even after getting admitted to Berkeley.

don’t feel bad. I also know another girl who LOVES it. There are alot of parties out there honestly, if you go there hopefully with the right crowd it will be the time of your life.
