Please advise. I am a transfer student who has always dreamed of attending UCLA. I was admitted to the University for this upcoming Fall, however they offered me NO financial aid. I am a dependent living with a single parent who is a teacher, thus we dont make more than 45k a year. I know I qualify for a lot more aid, but Im not sure why UCLA didnt give me any.

I know I missed the March 2 deadline for priority....but my FAFSA is in and other UC's gave me a lot more aid.

I think you already know why, but I would call your UCLA fin aid counselor and speak to them…maybe there is a reconsideration procedure? – see ucla fao website to figure out which counselor. don’t email, just call and if you don’t reach the exact counselor you are assigned to, leave a voice message

Why did you miss the deadline? If you had a really good reason, like you were in a coma, or a kidnapping hostage, or close to finding a cure for cancer, maybe the deadline would be waived. Otherwise you are asking a government agency to ignore their own rules and procedures just for you while applying them to everyone else. Not a good position to be in.
