I agree with megathunder. The team still isn't deep on the offensive side. Losing Breazell and Bell for the game is losing the backbone of this season.

Markey isn't back 100%, and there's a big drop if you run Christian Ramirez (since Moline is more of a power guy). So you can see why scoring was a problem.

I don't think Terence Austin and Pat Cowan are proven go-to guys yet .

dominique johnson is definitely our guy in the future (the one who caught breazell's TD pass vs cal), but he doesnt get any playing time! boo. rasshan needs some time as well

Dominique Johnson is indeed a hyped player; he has the height to make the super leaping catches. However, the times I've seen plays called for him, he seems to miss catches lobbed to him when he's defended by smaller corners ...

I think Terence Austin has the speed to take over Breazell too . . :)

Season is officially down the crapper. Case closed.

Oh well, I'm totally expecting to pull out a win against ASU next week and Oregon in the future. We lost out to Wazzu and Arizona so it only fits that we'll come around and beat two great teams, especially since there's nothing in it for us.

1) Rashaan didn't look good. Just because he can run doesn't make up for the fact that he completely missed a whole # of receivers.

2) UCLA, even with 4 losses, controls their own destiny with regards to the Rose Bowl. Granted, they need to beat ASU/Oregon/USC in order for this to happen...but it's weird to think that even with losses against 4 horrible teams they can still snag the 2nd biggest BCS bowl.

Rasshan had his 1st college game; it's expected that he'll miss receivers. If he can work on his pass, then he'll be a great mobile qb. I mean, did you see him run and scramble? There's potential there. If the guy can get more experience, hopefully our next coach can put in a spread option offense, cuz if Rasshan improves his pass, he'll be a great fit for that kind of scheme.

As much as I want us to win a bowl game, that would mean KD not getting fired, which would be bad. Dorrell needs to go. Now.

Yeah, I read somewhere that the sports director or whatever said he would be watching todays game closely and thus perhaps implying that it's the make or break time for Dorrell. Seeing how we lost today it only means we're getting closer to getting him out of here..

Well if ben olson could improve his passing skills he'd be a great QB as well. Same can be said for 99% of QB's....the fact is it's not easy to "improve your passing skills." Rashaan is fun to watch and great on the ground but he sucked when he had to put the ball in the air.

Also, even if UCLA wins out and wins the rose bowl, dorrel will NOT be back. Anybody who thinks he's coming back is nuts, regardless of what happens from here to the end....

The Bruin ground attack is a disaster now as everyone knows. Starting Moline is not good . . he's a short yardage guy and I don't see him as a guy who can translate into the Brandon Jacobs mold . .

I think that UCLA can use the TE more in the passing game . . Logan is a huge guy !

Agreed BH. Without a run game and with the likes of subpar QB's (whoever it is) it's hard to win and even harder to watch. I was watching ASU/Oregon and was thinking about how awesome it would be to have that "big play" potential. Every UCLA "drive" consists of 15 plays and numerous 3rd down conversions. At least basketball is looming around the corner :)

UCLA Basketball is more fun to watch . . though the exhibition game was a blowout as expected. With Kevin Love in, I think that the tempo shifts away from the half-court game.

There were like 3 fast breaks on half court lobs from Love to Shipp within like a 5 minute span ! But again, it was an exhibition game . .

I expected a much bigger blowout. I mean come on it's Chico State. I expect a blowout against Cal as well. Sweet sweet revenge for that loss at Staple Center
