USC, UCI, Michigan.

Well I was going to go to USC until they sent me financial package... My parent contribution is 0. My personal contribution is zero. Yet somehow I'm supposed to come up with $50 for my freshman year. I think not.

I turned down Davis, haha don't laugh you have to be me to understand why it was a difficult choice for me. I've wanted to go there since I was just a kid, my parents told me they only supported me in that because they thought I couldn't do better. My first love is there. My best friends are there. They have stables on campus with western riding... It's perfect, but UCLA is better. There's just no denying it.

i turned down davis too, kirbydee.
it was the closet UC to home (that i actually wanted to go to...cal is not my thing lol). davis also offered me regents and housing in the honors dorms.
and a LOT of my close friends, plus a ton of people from my high school, go there. hardly anyone i knew came here.
i'm also truly norcal at heart. socal, not really my ideal place!
but when i visited LA, i couldn't justify turning down LA for davis. just couldn't.
it was a little tough for me at times, wondering what my life would be like right now if i went to davis. surrounded by friends, able to see my family whenever i wanted to. but i know i made the right choice, and honestly i couldn't be happier. so i hope that you feel as good about your decision as i do! :)

Down with Cal! (Just had to say that. The Cal students at my hs have been so arrogant lately, openly insulting UCLA as a far lesser school.)

if you ever have a chance to go to a UCLA/Cal game at Cal... do it.
that's when they show their TRUE colors
so ungracious!!!

at my high school a lot less people got into ucla than cal. theres only like 5 of us going to la and around 15 going to cal. they act like cal's the better school but the numbers show ucla was harder to get into at least at my high school. but yeah what fastmed said made me think of this. my best friend got into cal but not la and she's still bitter i got into both and chose ucla over cal. hah college admissions turns people bitter

sorry for straying from the topic..

hey liyana, i'm true norcal girl as well. that's one of the things I was hesitant about on considering LA. hopefully I'll like it there.

A lot of people at my school were rejected from UCLA when they got into Cal, we had 10 Cal engineering acceptances compared to 1 UCLA engineering acceptance.

moviefan- it's an adjustment. so many things are different down here.
but with so many changes, there will be things about socal that you'll love, that norcal just doesn't have! :)

turned down UCSD, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Berkeley. Not a close decision, wanted LA all the way. It was the only letter I freaked out over.

I also liked the fact that UCLA had such a nice admissions packet, while the Berkeley one was cheap ****.

But that didn't sway my decision at all because I was a Bruins fan long before.

Turned down Cal, UCSD, USD for UCLA :)
