<p>So I don't see many people posting in the UCLA Housing thread that are going to be staying at Hedrick Summit which is why I decided to make a thread for it. :)</p>
<p>I''ll be staying in a single, shared bath @ Hedrick Summit. I hear a lot of things about the place though, that it's fairly new, and that it's FAR, or that there is a lot of walking involved.</p>
<p>I'm just wondering how many people share a bathroom? 4-5?</p>

<p>Oohh, Ok I get it now. Wow it really seems like most of the transfers are getting Sunset and Rieber…</p>
<p>Not that many have Hedrick Summit lol.</p>
<p>I guess sharing a bathroom with 5 girls beats sharing it with an entire hall.</p>
<p>That’s for sure. If we don’t have a floor with all transfers I hope at least the people well be sharing a bathroom with will be transfers.</p>
<p>I stayed at Hendrick Summit for a summer debate camp. Here are my two cents:</p>
<p>1) it’s new so it’s pretty sick inside. The lobby is comfy… very business-like.</p>
<p>2) the bathrooms are shared between two rooms. there isn’t a lock on the door so anyone can come in at anytime. hopefully you dont get the “handicap” room because instead of doors to the toilet + shower, you get curtains. makes for awkward situations when one guy is taking a crap, one guy is showering, and the other two are brushing their teeth.</p>
<p>3) it is HELLA far. at least 10-15 minute walk down and 15-25 minute walk up. the hill is very steep. </p>
<p>4) it has a nice view due to it being on the top of the hill</p>
<p>5) if you have AT&T, the cell phone connection sucks. one side of the place is a deadzone, while the other isnt. same thing with wireless. </p>
<p>overall, if you can switch to either reiber or de neve, i highly recommend it. i stayed at de neve the year before for the same debate camp and trust me - de neve is the best.</p>
<p>how did you guys get singles as a transfer?

<p>On the ask housing site it gives the square footage of plazas. Rieber vista, rieber terrace, and hedrick have the biggest rooms. They are also the newest buildings.</p>

all i keep hearing is that its far away from campus
also is the place wet or dry?
i put that i didnt want to room with anyone that didnt drink so i dont want to be stuck with people who dont haha</p>

all of UCLA’s dorms (with the exception of dykstra) are somewhat new. we are talking about de neve (which finished renovations in 2004ish) being older than hedrick summit (which finished renovations in 2006ish). come on now…</p>
<p>I actually put a DOUBLE as my first choice, and then a single, with triple being last.</p>
<p>I put that I’d live with:
-non-smoker
-wouldn’t mind if someone drank
-slept after midnight
-and in-between being neat/messy</p>
<p>I was pretty surprised when I got a single because I wouldn’t have minded a double. But with a single, I’m satisfied… but not with the expenses.</p>
<p>I’m not too thrilled about the distance, it’s good exercise haha, but I don’t want to risk being late or anything like that either. </p>
<p>I heard Rieber is the most social out of all the buildings though, so I’m not sure if Hedrick is lively or not.</p>
