UCLA Honors Program

So I applied to the honors program even though I didn't get invited outright on my acceptance letter (my gpa was above the requirements but my sat scores were 10 points short!). I submitted the essay and all that. But now how can I check my honor's application status? Do I get to know IF i have been accepted to their honors program? When? how?

Also, if I am accepted, then how do I sign up for housing? On the housing website it says that "specially recruited students," or honors and reagents scholars must submit all other documentation.... what does this mean? I already signed up for housing at UCLA and paid for the $30 nonrefundable fee.

I am just confused on the whole process. And what are some benefits of Honors? Do you get prioriity class enrollment like Reagents scholars, because that's the only "benefit" I really care about. Thanks

Yeah, they get priority enrollment.

honors will find out in mid-may.
i don't quite remember how... most likely you check your my.ucla.
there's no housing benefit to honors. i'm pretty sure we don't get priority or anything... and as a freshman it doesn't affect you.
just do your housing like everyone else, and enjoy the priority enrollment (a HUGE perk!!)

they may not explicitly get housing benefits, but my friends in honors are all in doubles this year. could just be luck/coincidence

lucky for them... i'm in a triple x.x

unless you're in the top 3% of your class, i dont think you'll get into the honors program.

they said on the site, no exceptions (when it comes to gpa and sat)

You could always apply as a continuing student, and if you're going to be in a cluster/PAN, you'll at least get priority for the first year.

Here's a secret: there are always exceptions.
