UCLA Housing Offers

Unfortunately I got rieber vista...triple...shared bath.
I desperately want a single.

I got hedrick summit...triple shared bath...I wanted a single...arggh

Mine is so lamed, applied for all single rooms and got an off-campus triple shared room. Westwood Chateau. What is the point of living off-campus if I am sharing a room. I rather not commute then.

damn! Wanted a single off campus... Instead i get 2 bedroom/4 occupant set up!

anyone know anything about landfair apartments?

so it sounds like UCLA housing basically screwed 98% of you. what a prize.

I got a single in Rieber Terrace. Who else got this?

hey everyone, do u gusy know how's rieber vista?
i got double shared bath, how many people share the bath?

You and three others (two double rooms) will share the bath.

I got a single in Hendrix, but the thought of sharing a bathroom with four other people lingers.

Yeah i haven't really thought about the bathroom side of things too much. Ive heard its not too bad, people get up and different times etc so you dont have too many problems.

thanks warrior

i have one problem:
i am incoming transfer student to UCLA.
I APPLIED FOR OFF CAMPUS HOUSING
i filled out my housing application and i have been approved for ON CAMPUS triple room with shared bath. however in my list of preferred stuff i put university apartments as number 1, but in my room preferences i put a triple shared which made them think that i wanted ON CAMPUS. i had my apartment preferences as 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, and made that mistake. is the housing offer irreplacable, what can i do? CALL THEM ASAP? i was told i'd be given preference four housing offers since ima be part of a minority group and all that, any feedback is greatly appreciated

minority group, as in ethnicity/race? they're technically NOT allowed to look at that as a factor anymore.

I believe you can drop mad money in order to have your housing reconsidered. I'm not 100% sure about it, I would go on AskHousing on housing.ucla.edu

i've heard that first you should accept the offer, and then you can appeal it. if u reject it right away, they might not give u housing at all

I applied for on campus housing and they gave me off campus housing. I got Glenrock apartments one bedroom/3 occupants. I really wanted to be in the suites or plazas how can i change this. I read that the apartments are for married couples and families. How the hell did I end up in this?

^the answer is simple-too many people.

By the way, you can chat directly with UCLA Housing today until 5pm: https://secure2.ha.ucla.edu/RightNow/livechat.cfm

Thanks Alan. I really wanted the on campus housing because if its resources (rec rooms/study rooms/etc) and meal plan. I hope we can switch housing after the fall quarter.

I believe what I've heard is that everyone should accept their housing and then changes might be able to be made later.
I think the fact that so many people didn't get what they wanted makes me feel a tiny bit better about myself. Anyone in here who is upset should think about that too. We all have something in common now!
