UCLA Housing Thread

anybody know the prices on these babies?

I WANT a res hall- I’m only 18 and I want to live in a dorm haha. Hopefully I can appeal if I get stuck in a plaza. I’ve visited my friends in Sunset and it’s nice but it’s totally antisocial

yeah CP your a 1 year transfer too right? btw are you going to stay for 3 years or 2 im debating between the two, cant make up my mind

i went on a housing tour today, let me know if u have any questions anyone

more info on delta terrace plz. ie: room setup, quality, newness etc.

Evan- How were the Plazas?!

Eshug–prices? and which did you like best

hey so I dont get the housing process I want a single at most and the very least a double. so you cant choose? you get randomly assigned? what if you dont like what you get? If I get a triple I might as well live at home

i talked to some guys in a triple and i guess you fill out a profile including your sleep time…and they said they were matched up all wrong.

For the housing app you can choose whether you want to be matched according to facility type, roommate, or something else i forgot. I chose facility type cuz I REALLY didn’t want a triple either. Then you have to yes/no some really awkwardly phrased questions, like “I don’t prefer a roommate who does not drink” or something.

YES! Those questions WERE awkwardly phrased! I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed. I literally read over that alcohol question aloud like 3 times. ha ha.

I actually liked the suites, but they are a little too secluded. We got to see saxon and it is nice.

@mckman/evan- They only showed me one plaza and it happened to be Delta Terrace so it was perfect!

I went into the tour, thinking that I might want a res hall because of the bathroom situation. They clean res hall bathrooms twice a day, and plaza’s once a week. But the plaza bathroom was actually not that bad.

Those of you who dont know the set up of the plaza bathroom, In the middle there are 2 sinks and on one side there is a separate room with a door to the shower, and on the other side is anotehr separate room with a door with the toliet.

As for the room, it wasnt that bad. We saw a triple and there seemed to be plenty of space for your clothes, desk and not feel like you are in a prison cell. There was a nice view of the quad, which seems like a pretty popular area. People tanning, throwing footballs, frisbee, etc. The lounge was really nice- big tv, wifi which can sometimes be reached to the rooms, couches, etc.

I am really really happy with the location of delta terrace. It is right next to covel commons which seems to be the biggest dining area. It also is much closer to classes than rieber or the suites. I could actually see myself living in the delta terrace plaza.

If it was a double, I think i would actually enjoy it a lot more, but I am fine with whatever. They gave me the low down on the meal plans too, and 14P def seems like the way to go. If you have any more questions ask me

AH! That’s so excited to read!

:D I can’t wait for the fall!

when it says one room 3 occupants, does that mean the $12,000 divided by 3?

i wish it was divided by 3, but its not

yeah, i like the location too! it’s inbetween all the action! rieber/hendrick/sproul are around it. however, it DOES look small-ish

trust me guys! its not bad. I just want a double. My tour guide was hitting on me lol she was only 18 though

I put double first, then triple, then single.

I hope all goes according to preference :)

the earlier you submit your SIR the better chance you get at your desired housing?

whaaaaat? so it’s like…$1000 a month? that is ridonculous. That’s almost as much as my parents pay for our HOUSE.
