UCLA Housing Thread

Officially no, but I can’t see how they finish thousands of housing apps between June 1st and June 3rd. Can’t hurt to turn it in early.

I think it is computerized. otherwise they couldnt do it so quickly

Good point eshug1.

edit: The UCLA housing website does indeed say it is automated.

ciaokarol - keep in mind that includes a meal plan though. but still pretty steep if you ask me, but what do you expect its college -_-

yeah i know…but still…off campus apartments&cheap groceries here i come!

hot pockets and ramen…sweet…

if you get your housing assignment and you don’t like it can you opt to not go through with it? I live close enough i can commute to school…

good question johnny, same boat here.

Pretty sure you can turn the offer down. You just won’t get your 30bucks back I think.

^I believe so. I’m pretty sure that you don’t get your $30 back, though.

lol i and nervous i dont want to commute to ucla which i would if i got a triple. maybe i should go to uci haha

2010 - 2011 Plaza Rates Up + Payment Plans

[Residential Suite & Plaza Triple Room, Shared Bath Rates 2010-2011 (1004367)](http://map.ais.ucla.edu/go/1004367)

If I end up in this apartment I’ve checked out, it’ll be $700/month + utils for a double. Plus the facilities are bomb (pool, hot tub, tanning deck, grill, sauna, mini gym, study room). 15 - 20 min walk to North Campus.

Honestly, 1.3k a month for a triple room is kind of ridiculous.

actually, i talked to a few students in triples and they recommended them over doubles. i guess the theory is that there is a better chance of getting someone you can get along with. and they said space was not an issue.

so how hard is it to get a single? Are there even singles with private bathrooms? Im only gonna live on campus one year so i wanna be comfortable lol well at least a double with a private bathroom is fine

Eshug, thanks for all the info! How was the life INSIDE the plaza? Quiet or pretty social?

For those of you who’ve applied already, what kind of questions to they ask you on the application? Apparently they try to plan accordingly to your preferences?

I could barely live with one other person the last two years… I don’t know how I’d handle living with three girls. :\ But Delta doesn’t seem so bad!

@ edelyn it was pretty quiet, but i was there are about 1-- so I am assuming people were in class.

In the common room there was a couple of people on their laptops. And on the quad there was a few people tanning and throwing a frisbee.

Delta is not the best but def not the worst. I actually really liked it

apparently the preferences don’t mean **** b/c everyone i talked to said their sleep times are whack and it seems like everyone has at least one bad suitemate

I have submitted my housing app already and you get 6 choices for residential… ex: 3 bd 3 person University apt, then next option: 2 bd 4 people, etc. etc. There were ~4 questions asking what time I preferred to go to sleep: b4 10pm btwn 10pm and 12midnight & after midnight… Next question asked about cleanliness and gave 3 options… Next questions asked if I smoked, drank or minded if my roommates did. Final question asked if I minded if my roommate had overnight guests…

Good luck!

i really wish there were pictures of the delta terrace suites online… but i haven’t seen any!!! i will be there tomorrow and hopefully be able to snap some pictures.
