ucla/igetc credits

i am currently enrolled in a cc and my major is computer science/engineering.
i am currently working on the pre-reqs required by the major found here on this: ASSIST Report: MOORPARK 08-09 UCLA Articulation Agreement by Major

it is my second year at my cc and my gpa till date is a 2.92 (but that is mostly classes that were for my general ed/igetc)

my question is does ucla look at the gpa of your pre-reqs or all ur classes total? because if u just look at my gpa of my pre req classes, then i have like a 3.7 (of course i have only completed like two pre-req classes, so i have a while left)

-regardless, i have 2 A's and 4 B's and 1 C so far (i had a D in precalc-my general ed class, and i retook it and got an A)

so what does ucla really look at when you want to transfer? the gpa of your pre reqs or ur gpa in total of all the classes u took? (that wouldnt make sense, since u can only transfer no more than 70 semester units right?

thanks!

9 views and no replies? =(

really need some help here!

this should be on the UC transfer forum.

regardless, your GPA is way too low to be accepted, even in something rather obscure like Woman's Studies or Asian American Studies.

you better bring it up to 3.5, if you want a chance to be accepted into engineering.

they look at your ENTIRE GPA, more emphasis on pre-reqs and whatnot.

good luck.

Well, if its of any conciliation, I know someone that got in the EE program with a 3.0. But that is probably an extremely rare occurrence.

okay...so ur saying that la looks at my overall gpa and not just my specific pre req gpa alone....so if i finish all my pre reqs and take another term where i take like easy non uc classes that would just help me inflate my gpa...would that be ok? (ex; maybe take some art classes, etc ) that way, if i was at like a 3.6 or so, i could raise it higher right?

and dont worry, im Not planning to apply to la with a 2.92 gpa. i still have lots of units left folks!
