Alright so I was accepted at UCSB and waitlisted at UCLA originally for an Environmental Studies major. I am in the honors college at SB which guarantees priority registration and one-on-one time and research with professors. That means personal letters of rec from my professors. Two days after I've committed(this morning), I get an email from UCLA congratulating me on my acceptance. I always considered UCLA to be my dream school (my brother currently attends), but I was just starting to get excited about being a Gaucho and the whole Santa Barbara vibe. I'm currently unable to lean either to one side or the other, since both have their pros and cons. I don't want to pass up on an opportunity like UCLA, but I feel like I'll do better in the Honors College at SB. They both cost me roughly $10,000/year to go. Any advice/personal experiences that you could share? I would really appreciate the help! I have until the 7th to decide for UCLA.

I am making the exact same choice right now…except I am still on the UCLA waitlist… Heh

Well then perhaps you’re in luck. Looks like I’m about to stick with UCSB. So I hope you get my spot, and don’t worry too much about the decision. You’ll end up where you’re meant to be.

Thanks! They’re both awesome schools, I’m sure you’ll love it either way!
