General Comments: Thought UCLA would be a rejection for DD because they never asked her to do a supplementary essay, while UC Berkeley did ask her for one - talent essay. This led us to believe UCLA would be a rejection. Very pleasantly surprised!
Also SAT was in very low range. Apparently all else outweighed that.
Still awaiting UC Berkeley decision. Hopefully her choice will be between UCLA & Cal… her top 2. Good Luck.

Folks - I have been admitted to UCLA but there is no financial aid offer letter. Has this happened to anyone? BTW, my parents income is low enough that there is no way to attend UCLA without that. I am OOS

[ *] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected:Waitlisted because the state of Calif. has auctioned off 40% of the capacity of schools like UCLA and UCB to out-of-state and foreign students in a misguided effort to balance the state budget. Also, thought my SAT score was more than sufficient. Blew off taking test again. Usually got 2300+ on practice tests. Should’ve taken it until I topped 2300. That seems to be the magic number where schools have a hard time kicking you to the curb.
