UCLA or Cornell for Civil Engineering

Ok so I had a recent post about UCLA or UCSD, and I had chosen UCLA (for the most part), but today I got accepted into Cornell and I dont know what to do. I know UCLA has worldwide name recognition. I do not know much about what people think of Cornell. Additionally UCLA is for a M.S. program and Cornell for a M.Eng program. I dont know whether I want to get a Ph.D yet. Input would be awesome.

Similar question: UCLA (Aerospace) v. Cornell (MechE + Aero minor)? What about Berkeley v. Cornell, both MechE? (On a side note, what exactly is the difference between M.S. and M.Eng. in terms of what it means for a future career?) Berkeley has a higher engineering ranking, but then again there’s controversy over the validity of rankings. I do feel that Cornell as an Ivy has somewhat more prestige than UCLA and Berkeley…is that true or false or just a matter of opinion?

From what I have read, a M.Eng is a profession degree which is project based rather than a M.S. which is research based. The M.S. programs seem to be planned to help prepare you for a Ph.D while a M.Eng degree is geared towards those who plan to work afterwards and not immediately go for a Ph.D. I guess its still possible to get a Ph.D from M.Eng but you may need to take extra classes. But I feel you with the school debate. I do not know which one would be better career-wise.
