I got into UCLA, Cal and Stanford and I have no idea where to go. I know this is just for undergrad, so I don't think that choosing one over the other will greatly compromise my education. Stanford is my dream school, but they gave me basically no financial aid. UCLA is close to home, which would be nice. Cal and UCLA They would also be cheaper for me to attend. I am majoring in biological sciences and would like to become a doctor, which is why I'm hesitant about the costs of Stanford. Also, Stanford doesn't have club basketball or volleyball, which I am very interested in. Opinions please!

go to UCLA, you'll need all the money you have to pay for med school later on.

Um wow STANFORD. You intend to major in bio and would like to become a doctor = all the more reason to choose Stanford, not to hesitate. If you can somehow pay, do it. If you can't pay, then it just isn't possible...go to UCLA...congrats and good luck. Med school costs tons anyway.

Stanford does have club volleyball (men's and women's). There is IM basketball which I think can actually be rather competitive.

Hey guys,

I have managed to get through two Universities-Yale and Stanford for their respective undergraduate programs. I am damn confused between the two--

I wish to pursue Economics at the Undergraduate Level and then join a B-School for a MBA degree. Which place is better suited for me?

I have been told that Stanford does not have an undergraduate college whereas Yale has one-Yale College. Will this make any difference. I am also told that Law at Yale rocks. But I know nothing about Economics at Yale or Stanford. Please help me out. Locations are NOT an issue for m. I am not concerned about financial aid either. I want to go to a place where I will get a better overall undergraduate experience- academics, extra-curricular, et al.
Where should I be- Yale or Stanford ? (Ultimately I WANT to do an MBA)Replies will be appreciated- It will frame my career guys!

I'd go with Stanford for economics over Yale in a heartbeat. It'd be a different story if Harvard econ and Penn Wharton were on the table, but I'd say Stanford > Yale both in econ as well as in econ grad job options.

Stanford economics is vastly superior to Yale in many ways. With some of the most influential economists of the 20th century and the hoover institute, which contains many of the policy makers in America, the faculty cannot be matched by many places. (Probably only MIT, Chicago, and perhaps Harvard).
