<p>When it comes to two schools like LA and Cal, a visit to the campuses would be much more useful than looking at statistics, particularly for CA residents. Since both are great schools, I think that finding out where you "fit" better is more important than the difference between 23% and 25% acceptance rate. Until two summers ago, I was just as confused; but, after visiting both, I realized that I just couldn't imagine myself spending four or more years at Berkeley. Hope that helps!</p>
<p>bbal87, wash u is supposedly doing this, too. As to funnyman, it's relatively close, but research for the statistics from both campuses for a close estimate. I want to say Berkeley has the edge.</p>

<p>All the wonderful selectivity, ranking, and prestige value in the world doesn't mean a damn thing if you hate the place and drop out. ;)</p>
