UCLA or UCSB honors college (biology major)?

Hi! I was admitted as a biology major to both UCLA and UCSB and I am having an EXTREMELY hard time deciding between the two. UCLA is more prestigious, but I’m worried about the difficulty level of the classes there, as it seems that south campus students have a much harder time than those in the north campus. I love UCSB’s campus and atmosphere, and I am in the top 15% of their applicants, so I was admitted to their Honors College of Letters and Sciences.

Is there much difference between the curriculums of each school? They’re both UC schools, so it would make sense that they’re somewhat similar. I’ve heard that only around 17% of those in UCLA math and science classes receive an A, and that the curves in the class are extremely high because the majority of the students do so well. I feel like this might be different at UCSB, and that I have more of an advantage there because of my higher academic standing.

I’d appreciate any help as I have to submit my intent to enroll by May 1st! Ahhh!

go to SB, you sound like u like it

What are you going to do with a bio major?

Hi! I don’t think I will be applying to med school because of the cost, if that’s what you’re getting at. I’m actually still undecided as to what I specifically want to do, but I’m hoping the classes I take will help me figure things out. I really want to be involved in research, and maybe even pursue a career in it (hopefully something immunopathology based). I’ve also looked into careers like forensic analysis, but overall not 100% sure!
