i'm interested in majoring in either music technology/recording (along those lines) and/or psychology, and possibly some film production.

soooo i was wondering, would ucla be better or usc? what are your opinions on these schools?

i'd also like to know what these schools are known for. i've heard that usc is good for film?

UCLA is better in music and psych stuff, USC is better in film stuff (though they’re both like the top 2 schools for that).

Both music departments and film departments at USC and UCLA are very tough admits. Chat with folks in the Film Majors forum and the Music majors forum. UCLA just got some excellent news—another 10 million donation for recording and rehearsal space, but that project has not yet been built. A nice addition to the 33 million donated by Herb Alpert. If you are interested in popular music, USC has a relatively rare program in pop music. UCLA is geared towards classical and jazz.
