I;m applying to both USC and UCLA (along with other schools like Vanderbilt, UNC, and Belmont). I'm from Tennessee and I was wondering which school is more out of state friendly (in regards to financial aid). The cost plays a HUGE role in where I decide to go to school and I want to know which school has better scholarships for out of state students.

Thanks

Run the Net Price Calculator on each school’s web site.

UCLA is a public university funded by the taxpayers of California, so OOS students pay full fees.

If FA is important, then take off UCLA from your list. Your family will be expected to pay at least EFC PLUS $23,000 per year…in addition to full student loans and work-study.

So, if your family’s EFC is $5k, then your family would have to pay $28,000 per year for UCLA, and you would also have full loans and work study on top of that. (so loans won’t reduce what your family has to pay).
