I am still debating over which school to go to. Since I will be attending either of these colleges out of state, financial aid is a big factor for me. UCLA has offered none while UVA has offered me a pretty reasonable amount, yet I've heard the UCLA psychology program is really good. Also, since my goal is to go to med school, I was wondering how hard it would be to keep a high GPA at both of these schools? Thoughts?

I’m also debating between UCLA and four (yes, four :'l ) other schools and I plan on majoring in psych, too. If you’re going to go into med you should know that there is an amazing hospital near UCLA. But if UVA is offering more money you might want to go there. It’s a great school, too. And I live in LA and can tell you that it’s kind of an annoying place. But it’s your call, obviously. (I’m a hypocrite though because I can’t decide myself. I just can’t)

pre-med @UCLA is pretty competitive.

@treesplease haha wow four schools? Good luck on your decision making! I’ve visited the campus of UCLA and the atmosphere seems great too. So is UVA’s…sigh decisions decisions…

And yes, I’ve heard it is really competitive there at UCLA.Is the program worth it to go there for undergrad even with the overall difficulty for those going into med? And by chance is the program at UVA very competitive as well?

Pre-med is competitive almost at every college. There seems to be an obsession with GPA. I would go with least expensive path even if it’s not your ideal college.
