I'm going to be attending UCLA as a transfer student in the fall of 2014.

Just wondering, are transfer students eligible for an invitation to join?? Because I meet the requirements that I know of, and my gpa is a 3.9.. I'm just wondering if there's a chance of getting invited. And if not, does anyone know what I should do to get an invitation after my first quarter?

Also, are there any members that can provide a description of what it's like to be part of phi beta kappa..The responsibilities and opoortunities that come with it?

All help is appreciated!

I think the GPA has to be earned at UCLA

phi beta kappa was a waste of money. They charge you $70-80 just so can spam your email and mailbox with stuff (And share your information across all universities across the nation).
It doesn’t really worth it unless you are going to be the president of the chapter of your university, which would show strong leadership skills. You can get an invitation through your school’s phi beta kappa chapter leader, there is sometimes more than one, and it’s purely based on GPA (I think 3.5+).

The GPA requirements vary depending on the number of units earned at UCLA. You have to earn a minimum of 90 units at UCLA to qualify. Here’s the link to the criteria.

Actually, I think it’s 90 units earned at any combination of UC schools
