UCLA Pre-Psych Major

Hello! I recently got accepted as a transfer student for UCLA's pre-psych major.

I was reading up on UCLA's website for Pre-psych transfer students and I understand that we have to complete Psych 100A and Psych 100B before petitioning to become major standing. Does this mean that I won't be able to take upper division courses until I complete Psych 100A/100B or will be able to take some but not all? Will I be able to take Psych 100A along with some elective courses that go towards the Psychology degree?

Last but not least, is it easy to petition to become major standing? As long as I complete Psych 100A and Psych 100B plus all the additional requirements, I can just contact admissions and I'll be set to go, right?

Thanks so much for anyone who contributes their advice and information! It is really much appreciated :)

you have to finish all premajor classes and declare your major with your advisor.
