o yea, theres not such thing as a ghetto is the US. Go to a third world country and come back.

We beat U$C. The ONLY rank that matters.

And I actually liked Berkeley as a town. Sure, not as clean as Westwood, but it has personality! Plus, it's not as bad as some other college "towns". Not to point any fingers............comp...to..nn...

^But by only two spots... We should be getting worried.

we dont have to get worried cuz USNR does give advantage to private school... although USC cant pass UCLA... what a joke

What is wrong with compton?
Its not that bad

"o yea, theres not such thing as a ghetto is the US. Go to a third world country and come back."

That's not what we're talking about... Apart from places like people's park at night or other parts of Berkeley in the middle of the night, its really not a bad place. It's a city that caters to its people, especially college students... at least the area around the school.

I don't know if you're from the bay area or not, but I've spent a lot of time in Berkeley (I live pretty close) and I've never thought of it to be a bad place. Except people's park...

wow...i live 30 minutes from berkeley and can sincerely tell u if u go to people's park and not find that trashy and ghetto as a mofo, then u have judgment issues

I do, however, still question my decision to pass up berkeley.

If Berkeley's such a ghetto, why is the cost of rent at Berkeley on par with that of Westwood?

hmm interesting thought: how exactly do you live off campus when you go to U$c... i mean isn't it kinda dangerous...?

does anyone know what ucla's undergrad engineering is ranked?

Student demand. Its not like they'll have anywhere else to live once Berkeley kicks them off campus.

But some schools admit larger quantities of idiots than others :P

Like George Bush from Yale ? =]

If you don't mind stray and smelly bums, come to Berkeley!

I have no clue as to why living in Berkeley is soo expensive. It's not like it is SF. Anywho I used to live in Berkeley and it is pretty rough there. Mugging and harassment from people are very common there.

USC is too low, IMO; it's more like Vandy or Emory or ND, etc. I predict it will overtake UcLA in a few years, no big achievement, really, since UcLA is not that exclusive. On the other hand, USC, at least, has a more national student body. And both Cal and UcLA are majority Asian, whereas USC is more diverse.

Stanford is still leagues ahead, ha, ha....

IRT #51 - also, proximity to San Francisco, methinks!

how is ucla not that exclusive compared to usc

Did I just read some 'SC love up there???

Honestly, what do you expect from UCLA being a state school? Exclusive should be used more in the context of price and smaller student body in terms of USC.
