I compiled a list of the top ranking organizations. UCLA definitely ranks along side of the Ivys. UCLA averages in 12th place!! Now I see why UCLA is known all around the world.

Just confirming your self fufilling prophecy, are we now? We all know UCLA provides an academic experience on par with the IVY league. No need for this post, just redundant information. Nothing new, why don’t you run along now and pleasure yourself over photos of the UCLA campus

Yeah yeah… See the good thing about being from LA is that I’ve learned to not let comments like yours bother me. Anyhow, I’ve always focused on US News until my friend mentioned the other rankings last night. He has a PhD from USC and was denied by UCLA three times. He kept telling me how impressed he was. I guess I’m just super excited about UCLA.

Haha I’m so proud of myself getting into UCLA! @SMCguy: remember that I was worried about my poor grades in pre-reqs and u told me not to worry since my major isn’t impacted? Guess you were right!! :D

It’s funny, I’ve run into many socal people that are unaware about any competitions or rivalries with norcal. Yet, all the norcal people I’ve met are aware and mention the rivalry/dislike of socal with alacrity. Is it the pettiness of norcal or endemic apathy of socal?

Investment- UCLA and Cal have its strengths in certain areas.

For most pure science majors like bio, physics, math, engineering, psychology as a social science, political science, majors that do well on the LSAT, any business discipline for that matter - Cal is stronger.

For pre-med/health, any discipline in the health sciences, psychology as a medical discipline (psychobiology), neuropsychology, theater, film, performing arts, music- UCLA is stronger

Our family friend told me this. In fact, he works at UC Berkeley.

Berkeley is slightly more prestigious but you can not go wrong with these two great schools.

Even the prestige depends on your major. For visual/performing arts, graduating from UCLA’s School of Arts and Architecture is much more impressive than obtaining [insert degree here] from Cal’s Letters and Science.

Just saying for the arts… Please don’t stone me!
