I got my invitation for the UCLA Regents Scholarship today. Does this mean I'm guaranteed into UCLA now? Crosses fingers

you're an idiot.

It's a good sign that you are probably in.

Congrats

How did you get that?

does it come in the mail or email?

no I ment what is it?????

It's a scholarship program at UCLA. You have to fill out extra essays for it. Generally, if you are eligible to apply for the scholarship you are already accepted.

joe552:

Congratulations.

Hmm.
"Congratulations on the scholarship" or "Congratulations on the acceptance to UCLA" >_>

I was deliberately being ambiguous.

We were wondering the same thing. Do they only contact applicants who are likely to be admitted or does every applicant get contacted by the alumni association to apply for the Regents Scholarship? That would be a LOT of phone calls:)

Well, there's an alumni scholarship, which is sent out to EVERYONE in the applicant pool, and then there's the regents scholarship, which is sent out to the top 1.5% of the applicant pool.

it surprises me that they actually give each and every applicant a personal phone call, with thousands of applicants to reach. Oh well.
