Hi, I am taking a class at UCLA over the summer and I am a high school student. I was wondering what scholarships are available that would give money so that I can take the class that I need to take. I am the first generation in my family to live in America. I have really good grades and pretty good scores. I am taking Physics 10 at UCLA. The class just costs too much money and I need to find a way to pay for it, or else I cannot take it. If there is anything that UCLA offers that would be extremely helpful as well. Thanks!

UCLA has a scholarship resource center on campus, so if you can get to it, then you might be able to find some.

i’m not sure if any scholarships are suited to high school students though, and since you’re only taking one class, i don’t really see you getting one.

the only feasable reason i even see for taking classes at UCLA over the summer if you’re not enrolled through the academic year is if you’re trying to earn credits which will be there so you can finish earlier. Other than that, i don’t really see the reason, unless you really want to spend your summer in LA.

why not just take your class at a community college if money is an issue?

Our community college is basically limiting their classes to people who have actually graduated from college. It is practically impossible to get into any of the classes there and some classes do not even allow high school students. I really wanted to take it during the year but there just is not enough room in my schedule. But I guess it doesn’t matter now, because I called the financial aid office and they told me that High School Students don’t get any financial aid :(. I guess I’ll just have to find some other way
