I admitted to UCLA for fall 2011, I plan to take summer class in UCLA, I register for 2 classes already. I don't know is my financial aid cover my registration fee for summer or not? I have not SIR yet. Is there other guy going to take class, too? Do you need to pay for the fee?

i’m pretty sure the only financial aid you’ll be offered are private loans, i went to the financial aid office to talk about that too, they don’t disperse much grants or scholarships over summer i believe. you can call the financial aid office and ask them though

Umm you need to get on the ball!! The deadline for Summer aid was 4/30/11 and awards were given out earlier this week. Most students registered for at least 8 units received a $1,100 grant, some received more.

Also, in order to receive the UCLA student rate you need to submit your SIR.

UCLA summer session financial aid grants were released today (at least for me). If you’re a non-resident it’s 6 grand. 3 grand if you are one. UCLA is paying for my summer classes and I’m getting a bit extra left over for personal expenses. You had to be registered for 12 units to be considered full time and thus receive full monetary coverage for your classes.

UCLAboundanddown—when did you apply for summer Fafsa in UCLA, and did you summit your SIR?

anyone get your summer eFAN yet? i am sure this is oddly personal to post, but will someone tell me where 6,000+ came from? i have lived in CA my entire life so it isnt becasue i am a non-res. I am enrolled in 8 units. also if you except a Perkins or unsubsidized loan for this summer, does it in anyway effect how much you will be offered in the Fall?

@citusguy: I applied for summer school back in April, right after I SIR’d into UCLA. Same day, actually, so I think April 25th.

@LizfromHollywod: Weird, I applied for 3 classes and got roughly the same bill on my eFan, ~6k. Could it be because you’re going to live on campus during the summer? I’ll be commuting, but I don’t see how I can be taking one more class than you and still end up having the same fee amount. I believe your BruinBill conveys a more accurate account on your class fees. A grand a class seems to be about right for semmer session classes as a resident UCLA student.

i will be communting as well. ok thanks for the feedback, i will be calling them first thing on Monday!

also, does excepting the perkins or unsubsidied loan effect you financial aid for the rest of the 2011-12 school year? does it get rolled into your total debt?

I have no clue how summer loans work. I declined them, but you should ask the finaid office when you call on Monday. Sorry I couldn’t be more of a help.
