I was thinking about enrolling in the summer session at UCLA this summer but Im not sure about the whole thing. Right now, I attend Rutgers University in NJ (where Im from) and dont want to be stuck home doing nothing over the summer. I visited UCLA two summers ago while on vacation and am now thinking about taking a course and staying in the residence halls as a visiting student. The price of the courses at UCLA are cheaper than I thought theyd be (though still a little pricey).. Is this a good idea?

If there is a course or two which will transfer to Rutgers and count towards your degree, by all means, YES. UCLA is in a great neighborhood with movie theaters walking distance to campus and a bus ride to the ocean in Santa Monica. There are recreation resources (pool, etc.). The campus is beautiful. I am considering sending my son to UCLA summer session (he is not a current UCLA student, but I am a UCLA alumni). The weather is nicer than the East coast (hot but drier-not humid like the East coast).
