I am currently a junior in high school and I wanted to participate in the UCLA summer session. However, it is extremely expensive versus going to community college to take a class or two there. Is it worth having? Will it increase my chances of being accepted into UCLA, especially if I do well in the class? Thanks in advance.

no, it will not increase your chance of being accepted to UCLA. Find something interesting to do over the summer. Then you’ll have something to write your essay about.

Hmm, like what? I guess I could find some volunteer work or something.

UCLA’s summer session won’t give you a boost, but mine was pretty cool anyway.

I’d find a common theme for what you like and develop that through experiences, volunteer work, etc. That would be ideal.
