I just found out I'm accepted as a Math/Econ major. I applied literally EVERYWHERE else as a Computer Engineering major, so I was obviously taking a lot of advanced physics/engineering classes.

I'm wondering if you think they will let me drop a Physics course on Electricity and Magnetism because I already only have a 3.2 GPA and I don't want to risk a drop. This class is TOTALLY unrelated to a math/econ major. Also I have IGETC certification and can't even put this class towards GE. I also have well over 60 semester units completed (closer to 80) so I can't transfer useless courses like this anyways (because I think you can only transfer 60 over?)...

I'm going to call tomorrow I suppose, but what do you guys think? Anyone else been able to drop a course that was unrelated to their major/IGETC?

I don’t really understand why they would care. I can understand that they made their decision to accept me based on classes I was taking. But, how could my taking a course on electricity and magnetism be any type of factor in accepting me for math/econ?

I know it’s kind of dumb to ask for other people’s opinions when theirs is the only one that matters… But has anyone else been in a similar situation?

Yeah, I’m going to call tomorrow. I really hope they don’t mind. Also I’ll have nearly 90 units completed by the end of this semester. I wouldn’t transfer it over anyways… but I wish someone else who’s done/tried to do this before could ease my mind a bit!
