^which makes me nervous because the bar under my name went blank… :(

^ Isn’t that a good thing?

It’s actually a good thing! I looked at some of the posts from last year’s thread and people who had their major there had the banner go blank, and then later it reappeared with their major and “admit” So it’s a good sign

^not 100% certain that it is a good sign even though it used to show my major…

@ttavakol thanks! still, its hard not to worry when our major is so competitive!

I spoke with the head of the transfer dept. at my school yesterday and they said that they aren’t posting a date because they honestly don’t know when they’ll be finished. I then asked if UCLA wanted to be responsible for me jumping off a cliff, which made them laugh uncomfortably, haha. I find it odd that it’s taking so long though…the UCLA rep that I’ve met with numerous times said that especially for highly impacted majors, the first thing they do is eliminate students below the GPA cutoff line – and honestly, that’s a LOT of applicants! I’m just going to do my best to remain busy until the 26th and hope that’s the magic day, because I literally think my hair is starting to fall out from stress.

@MrAnxious you’re a comm major, too?

^yes! :)

@MrAnxious I know what you mean >.< I think the fact we saw our majors on the banner though is a good sign!! I’m using that as the only thing giving me hope and kind of keeping me calm, cause our major is just…way too intense when it comes to getting in

They have released it earlier in the past and they don’t have that many more applicants so I don’t see any reason for them taking so damn long

@ttavakol I’m so stressed out over this whole decision thing! Even though I keep assuring myself that I should be safe since my gpa is slightly above last year’s average, I know I won’t be able to relax until I see the official result! And to receive decisions from UCLA and Cal on the same day is just extra painful for us! :(

just waiting for that moment when one of us sees their decision first! lol

@aztec
It’s because the freshman applicants. They had record breaking numbers this year and I believe ucla to be the college with the most applicants a year in the us… I’m sure it took them very long to finish those, probably right up to the deadline, so I understand this delay

@MrAnxious I’m super stressed too I’m just trying to keep distracted or it would be too hard to think about anything else! You’re lucky at least you’re above the GPA! I’m 3.88 so .01 below which is even more stressful D: The good thing is it’s all over in one day, I just wish that one day could be sooner!!

@ttavakol did you also apply for cal? and what major?

@MrAnxious I did but since I know they really don’t like UC to UC transfers I don’t expect to get in. My hope’s pretty much just for UCLA. For Cal I applied for the Media Studies major, you?

@ttavakol same here! but what’s the deal about UC to UC transfer? Isn’t it easier to get accepted to Cal Media Studies?

@MrAnxious Maybe easier than UCLA but UCLA considers UC to UC transfers the same as community college transfers but Cal only lets the super amazing people in from UCs so it’ll be harder for me But if you’re a community college transfer then yeah there’s probably a higher chance for you!!

@jmanriquez27 You don’t have to take chemistry for the psychology major. You can opt to take physics instead if you want. That’s what I did.

@ttavakol I just private messaged you :)
