UCLA Transfer decisions out April 19th!

^ That totally made my day :)

10 days. It feels like I’ve been waiting forever.
Who got likely letters?

Seriously. This is the longest month of my life. I am super bummed cause I am looking on assist and UCLA requires 1 extra pre req than other UCs do for my major, I am now missing 2 pre reqs so its not looking super likely for me, especially since I am an engineering major and its very competitive
And no letter unfortunately!

This is taking too long. I can’t wait…just like i can’t wait until october for the walking dead to come back!

Any statistics majors in here by anychance? anyway good luck to everyone!

@sarah989 I know how you feel. I hope to major in Mechanical Engineering at UCLA. However, last year acceptance for ME students was 5.5% and the average GPA for admitted student was 3.95 which is about my GPA. My alternate, Aerospace Engineering, isn’t pretty either. It had 9.8% acceptance rate last year.

I got a likely letter (art major) but you already know that. I’m going crazy waiting too! I’m really curious about how the open house will be too.

@waterox where did you get the GPA of 3.95 for average admitted student?

From last year acceptance rate from UCLA. I read it from a link provided in the UCLA thread. Maybe from here or the other one.

@ HopingToXfer

here’s the link

@waterox
Thats funny, I’m aerospace engineering and my alternate is mechanical! haha
But yeah, I almost feel like I’m more likely to get accepted to Berkeley than UCLA for some reason. Just from reading the threads from previous years and checking out the GPAs that were accepted.
I have a 3.79, which isnt terrible, but also not super promising for UCLA. But who knows?

It says 3.89. I don’t see 3.95.

Oops, it does say 3.89. My bad. So my chance is higher now lol.

^ Good Luck to you guys.

@abdabs what lunch option did you choose? I chose the chicken. lol
I’m excited

@sumbum I got the mozzarella basil one haha :)

So, are you basically assuming you’re in or what? At this point it’s pretty difficult for me to imagine being rejected but I know it is possible at the same time.

I’m having panic attacks over this one, UCLA has been my dream school forever, unfortunately due to one bad semester in 2005 it has taken my hard work over the past two years of a 4.0 down to a 3.87…as a Communication studies major (EXTREMELY impacted), that doesn’t usually cut it. My heart is already sinking…ughhhh!

@Caracr if it makes you feel any better I am applying as a Poli Sci major (also impacted) with a 3.6. I am just hoping that they look at other factors (one horrible semester that screwed up my gpa and a beast personal statement) to make their decision. And also keep in mind that the average GPA for a given major is just that, an average meaning that some people got higher but some people also got much lower. Good luck to both of us!!!

@abdabs Since the faculty of A&A chooses who gets in, and we’ve technically been chosen already, we could assume that we’ve been accepted… but the final word will come next Friday. I’m trying to remain neutral.
@Caracr Decisions are not solely about GPA, anything can happen. I would love to have your GPA, mine is 3.5.

The faculty of the engineering department also chooses who gets in and who doesn’t.

@HopingToXfer was there a likely letter for engineering?
