Some people were invited to the open house. I read from somebody else that the open house was focused towards academically disadvantaged students.

@hoping that was a different open house for STEM

This wait is unbearable…

I was invited to the UCLA Open House recently and the e-mail stated that the invitation was aimed to students recommended for admission. The event is this week but I will not be able to attend unfortunately because I am in Brazil at the moment, however, I do not believe that it is for academically disadvantaged students.

It must have been a different open house for sure…

@Mari2013 what is your major?

What are “likely” letters?

K guys so I talked to a UCLA representative yesterday and it seems that there still is no date set in stone and that the 19th was something of a rumor that got started from the inside. What IS for sure is that it will be released on a Friday meaning it will be either the 19th or the 26th. They are about 80% done reviewing the apps but after that they have to go through a final process that takes about a week. HOPEFULLY it will be the 19th but again nothing is set in stone. He told me to keep checking the website because as it gets closer to the date it will stop saying “late april” and it will say an actual date. Good luck to all!!

[Decision Notification - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/applicant/notify.htm)

Wrong UCLA thread. xD

Dam. I hope it’s the 19th. This wait is killer.

@aztecstudent It is more than likely the 19th since Berkeley decisions are on the 26th and UCLA decisions typically come out before Berkeley decisions.

The exact date is supposed to be a secret at this point. That is why if you call and ask them, they will not confirm.

@aztec has been tricked.

They have something around an extra 5000 transfer applications to read this year. I read an article where they said that the total (freshman + transfer) number of applicants is somewhere around the number of residents of Santa Monica city. I think it might be somewhat of a “secret” because they’re not even sure of when they can get through all of those

@sumbum did you call them? Is that what they said?

@Anaval Last year there were 19,099 transfer applications. This year there is 19,087. Where did you get the extra 5k from?

Most likely an increase of 5000 from the freshmen applicants.

@Heatzz You are right. I was looking in the in state column.

good thing there’s not an extra 5,000 apps because they’re admitting about 5-600 less transfers this year

Really? Why?
