Admittance rates seem to have gone down overall, especially in the school of engineering.
I'm wondering if this will be an ongoing trend? :(
(CS at UCLA is a freaking 1% admittance rate!)

The average admitted GPA for this major increased from 3.56 to 3.61 this year even though the acceptance rate increased as well, from 59.17% to 60.71%. Also, the number of applicants to the major seriously declined this year, from 409 to 336. I guess the thing about admitted GPA has to do with the strength of the applicant pool from year to year to some degree.

Also, lol @ computer science’s acceptance rate of 1%. Good luck to all the CS majors applying to UCLA, you’ll need it. :P

Anyway, thanks for notifying us of the release of this information.

Thanks for posting! wow 1% is crazy!
History looks decent acceptance raised about 2% to 47%
and average GPA dropped nearly nothing to 3.73
I currently have a 3.82 looking to ether keep it as is or if I get a B 3.75
Hopefully I have a chance!

Out of 501 applicants for CS major, I assumed there were at least 150 to 200 students missing at least 1 prerequisite. Also, we need as least 3.3 GPA to be considered for admission, while the average GPA applied was 3.37. Hence, the actual acceptance rate should be higher than 1.2%. But seriously, only 6 students got admitted, and the average GPA admitted was almost 4.00. That is just so ridiculous.

It’s not that surprising if you’ve taken a CS class before. CS is straight-up one of the most genetically determined subjects. You are either born a good programmer or not. So it’s not surprising they only take the best of the best. Those are probably the only people who will create the next generation of computer code anyways.

What happened in the engineering department? The average GPA admitted for Aerospace just sunk and others all just shot up. If you look at the past years, they all have been consistent. This is the only year that differs dramatically from other years. Wow almost all of them had an average GPA admitted of 3.9 and up… This is no chance. In other words, unless you have 4.0 GPA, don’t even bother applying. Seriously.

Wow this is lame. I thought they would have the Financial Actuarial major up for 2013. Hey, at least if I get in, I can say I was assisting with the establishment of a new major as a pilot student.

Only 9 people applied for my major and 4 got in - I’m not sure what that says about my chances if they’re going to be super strict with the prerequisites.
