gpa:3.3
major:biochemistry
schools: smc, lacc, elac, pcc

You might want to tell us your major. GPA's fluctuate significantly when looking at the transfer statistics for each major.

GPA: 3.8
Major: Political Science/Geography
Colleges: El Camino, Santa Monica

im surprised at the 3.15 ME guy who got in...just last year my friend who was ME had a 3.6 but was waitlisted and then rejected...weird

My guess is the 3.15 ME guy has work experience and/or E.C.'s. It is much easier to get high GPA's if school is all you have to do.

my 3.6 bud had those as well....car mechanic, ptk etc etc

Those bastards!!! j/k LOL. No offense, but paying $60 to be in PTK doesn't count as EC. Some people do actual EC's with PTK but most don't.

he had other ECs...PTK was just an example and he was pretty involved not like me who never attended a single meeting

That sucks. They should do an ABC 20/20 insider story on the UCLA admission process. LMAO. That would be so hilarious to see the admissions people rolling dice and flipping coins. LMAO.

^ LMAO! ***? Where did you come up with that idea? That was so random...

hey nikkei u go to IVC? have I ever seen u? I used to work at the IVC library btw

LOL. Don't get offended. It was a joke, if u couldn't tell. I still think that would be so hilarious.

"This is John Stossel with a special 20/20 report where today we will go to the beautiful campus of UCLA where we will go behind the scenes at UCLA admissions to give you the truth on how the admission process works. My first guest is an admissions specialist, John Doe. So John, explain exactly how you make such difficult decisions on which students will be admitted to your school, and which ones will have to choose another college."

"Well, we first grab 6 different applications. We assign each one a specific number from 1-6 but we do not give the same number twice. Then, you see, we roll this six-sided die. (Rolls the die) It's a 4. The corresponding application with a 4 is the applicant we accept and we throw the other 5 in this trashcan here. And then, we repeat the whole process again, using 6 new applications."

"What if the die is fixed?"

"We personally roll each die we use 15 times to ensure that our dice are not fixed, and that each applicant receives a fair chance in admission."

LMAO

Which complexes would you guys recommend?

Plz don't get offended (I hate over-sensitivity). I have asked my friends who have lived at the UCLA dorms if it was a good experience for them (Back when I was sure that I was going to UCLA). They told me the networking opportunities were good, but the dorm rooms SUCK! They are too small, and very noisey making it a not so good place to live. In addition, current students have made their dorm decisions a long time ago, meaning transfers will not have many choices on which dorms they want to live in.

Before g1a2b3e makes a post, I want to say that post #33 was just a joke. I am not asserting that there was an actual 20/20 report like the above, nor am I asserting that the UCLA admission process is random. LMAO.

You sure laugh your ass off a lot!

yup. It's so fun. You should too.

"hey nikkei u go to IVC? have I ever seen u? I used to work at the IVC library btw"

I was only at IVC/Saddleback for one semester. Starting in Winter '05 until now I've been at SMC. I didn't recognize any guys working at the library. Usually it was these Asian girls, one an older Korean lady and a younger one who was probably an international student.

"LOL. Don't get offended. It was a joke, if u couldn't tell. I still think that would be so hilarious."

Haha. I didn't get offended by that and I knew you were just making a joke. It would be very funny if your hypothetical was the case though.

RANDOM FACT: WHOOAAAAA!!! I have 949 posts! LOL.

remember there is a huge difference between the transfer GPA of students admitted from community colleges and the GPAs of students admitted from 4 year universities... why dont schools just publish all the statistics of admitted students!!!!!!!!!!! or do they?
