Berkeley is notoriously difficult though, im still trying for UCLA.
Got into Berkeley but UCLA is my number so I’m staying on the waitlist. But as for now, Go Bears!

UCB apply mathematics applied and UCLA mathematics-Fiancinal actuarial science. So sad, I already finish all the requirement classes and still keep 4.0 GPA :((

@kellbellfell This really sucks! I also apply UCSD and UCSB. I get a rejection form UCSD! I only receive an offer from UCSB. I probably will go to UCSB. By the way, I am an international student and I don’t have a lot of work experiences. :-S
@chritinachen Hey, I’m in the same major (Financial Actuarial Mathematics) and if it makes you feel better, UCSB has one of the best actuarial science programs in the country. They win all kinda of awards from the Society of Actuaries and stuff. Best of luck whatever you choose!

is UCLA worth the wait or should i just go to UCSD… (i mean, if UCLA happens to admit me off their waitlist lol)
i also got into berkeley but really hated it when i visited.
i remember i had a meeting w/ a UCLA admissions officer in october and he said i would most likely get into UCLA, and i even asked him if it’s true they tend to only admit students to either berkeley/ucla cuz they dont want to “fight” over spots and he was like nope! and what do you know, waitlisted here, admitted at berkeley (the one i didn’t prefer)
i really only applied to cal to see if i could get in but never really thought about attending :\ next time ill just stick to what i want and not what pride dictates!
@otoribashi tbh with you, most of the people who are admitted this year are in the honors program, that’s even if we finished all the pre-reqs and have 4.0s, they will still pave way to peeps who are in the program, which is unfair, but both LA and Berkeley are the best. I’m waitlisted to LA as microbio, but admitted to Berkeley. If I were you, i’d SIR Berkeley and hope for the best for LA
@otoribashi I called admissions and that’s the reason why I’m waitlisted. They told me most of the peeps who applied as Micro and are in the program, have higher chance of getting in, even if they have a lower gpa than mind and less pre req
@Allhalekhaleesi so wait, does that imply that if you attend a school that does not participate in the honors/tap program you’re somewhat at a disadvantage from the get go? yikes 
@Allhalekhaleesi oh wow that sucks well my gpa was pretty low to begin with so i just attributed it to that (it’s a tiny less than 3.5)
i still really don’t want to go berkeley though and would probably just SIR to UCSD but not sure if it’s stupid to throw away that chance to go to cal.
i think last year UCLA admitted like around 5000 transfers? and this year only about 3200… so hopefully they take a lot of us off their waitlist…maybe they did this just to improve their yield or something…admit less, and know that those on the waitlist will most likely enroll if eventually admitted…
@InTheNightSky95 that, you have to ask them, because apparently they did prioritize the people who have honors program on their application. One of the case was mine. My friend and I applied to the same major which is Micro.

Physics 66= A
Physics 67= in progress
Gpa= 3.9

My friend with honors:
Ochem 1 and 2= B
No physics
Gpa=3.6
Accepted
We have the same extra curricular since we both started cc together and known her for a long time.
