UCLA, Univ. Southern Ca., What are my chances?

It's completely untrue that UCs won't give money. Yes, they don't throw money at potential students like privates can (unfortunately, to be sure) but they're always worth a shot. If you get a good offer, it's worth it.

Try some East Coast schools as well. Privates, like I said before, oftentimes have deep pockets.

OK. I understand.

I must to copy this again because this is the second page.

Don't kill me (because of that), but tell me what are my chances for this schools (reach, match, safety). Don't remember that I don't have money to pay so I need scholarship. Tell me which of these universities are good in engineering. And how much good they are? Because I'm great student and i want to go in really good school.
Please answer on my questions.

Univ. of California Los Angeles
Univ. of south California
University of California San Diego
New York University
University of California Irvine
University of California Santa Barbara
University of California Davis
University of Florida
George Washington University
Pepperdine University
University of Miami

thank you.

Have you taken the toefl?

No. But I will. Why?

almost nobody said me what of these uninersity are reach, match or safety for me.

you don t have a chance. you better stay in serbia

"almost nobody said me what of these uninersity are reach, match or safety for me."

That's because your special circumstances make it very hard for anyone to estimate your chances. International students have different requirements than nationals, and your background is different, as well. You need to contact the individual schools you're interested in and just apply to the ones you'd like to try.
That's pretty much what everyone does - applies and hopes for the best.

Thank you. This is good idea.
I'll contact these schools. Just tell me how.

If you don't know what are my chances for West coast, tell me what universities from East coast you recomand me?

Please, please.

frankly, you're going to need to aim "lower" than a lot of the schools you are mentioning if you wish for a full scholarship. that doesn't mean youi'll get a less quality education, youi'll stil get such an advantage compared to your peers in yugoslavia. work hard and you will find success.

How can I improve my chances?

?????????????????????

win the lottery

Hm. Maybe I will.

Please guys, you are not helping.

To be honest, you are an over qualified applicant for each and every of those school (disregarding major) but the fact that you need a full ride makes many of them reaches. My suggestion is to aim a bit lower as well but it wouldn't really hurt to try applying to the schools on your list as well. I am not sure but you may have the cahnce to waiver the 60 buck applicant fees? Correct me if I am wrong.

I think that you might be able to get a partial scholarship from Irvine, Davis, or Santa Barbara. They're second tier and they're always trying to get smarter, better people to go there by giving out some money. One of my friends had a 75% paid scholarship from Irvine, and he was from Japan.

I would hardly call Irvine, Davis, or SB "second-tier," but your point still stands.

I think moldau intended to say that UCI, UCSB and UCD were second-tier among the UCs, rather being than second-tier universities at the national level.

You said me:
"Try some East Coast schools as well. Privates have deep pockets".
"My suggestion is to aim a bit lower as well".
OK. Please tell me what colleges?
What colleges you recomand me? I need names. Please.
And thank you.
