<p>UCLA is better-known, and very likely has a stronger faculty. I’m sure American U is a good school, but UCLA is a great school, recognized across the globe.</p>
<p>UCLA for sure. UCLA is ranked #25, while American University is ranked #82 according to US News. UCLA is much better, though I can’t speak for how much they will cost you.</p>
