I am an international student who got accepted to NU with $15000 per year at the honors program and also to UCLA but with no scholarship/financial aid. NU major= biomedical Physics, UCLA major= Neuroscience. I don't know which uni to choose considering I want to go to med school after I finish college so I believe money is quite a problem( my parents told me they will make a loan so that I can attend UCLA, but if I choose NU, they won't actually need to make one) Which uni should I choose?

nu is a better option

Please be aware it is extremely difficult for international students to go to medical school in the US.

Fewer than 200 internationals matriculate each year in all US medical schools combined. Most of those matriculants (>90%) are Canadian. (In part because the Canadian government provides student loans to its citizens who attend med school in the US.)

Only about 70 med schools say they will consider international for admission. (In practice, however, only about 25-30 have admitted any internationals in the past 5 years.)

Gaining admission to med school is only the first part of the problem. Except for 4 or 5 medical schools, international students are not eligible for financial aid. This means you must demonstrate that you are able to independently fund your medical education before you will be allowed to enroll. (Estimated cost for 4 years COA ~$250-400K) Generally, you will be expected to supply either a letter of guarantee from your home country government or place at least 1 year’s COA (~$75K) in an escrow account in a US bank.

If you are serious about wanting to attend med school in the US, the prestige of UCLA may help you when you go apply.
