UCLA vs Northeastern

I am an international student who got accepted to NU with $15000 per year at the honors program and also to UCLA but with no scholarship/financial aid. NU major= biomedical Physics, UCLA major= Neuroscience. I don't know which uni to choose considering I want to go to med school after I finish college so I believe money is quite a problem( my parents told me they will make a loan so that I can attend UCLA, but if I choose NU, they won't actually need to make one) Which uni should I choose? (btw got admitted to 9 universities in total)

Northeastern isn’t NU, it’s NEU; Typically, NU is Northwestern University.

As an international student your odds of getting accepted into med. school in the U.S. are pretty low from what I’ve heard. What I’d recommend doing is going to NEU. In the end, if you don’t get into a med. school, you at least won’t have the debt; and if you do, you can use the saved money for med. school.

yeah, hard to beat no loans whether you go to med school or not. Northeastern will provide you with an excellent education, and they have a neuroscience program if you change your mind. Plus, your parents will love you quantifiably more

just know that most US med schools do not accept international students, so your chance of attending a US med school are close to nil. Thus, IMO, you should choose your undergrad college with that in mind.

Erm btw I got accepted to the Honors Program at Northeastern, while I am still waiting for a response from UCLA regarding my honors program application. Also, can I complete my SIR at both unis and decide which I am going to attend after I get a response from the Honors program at UCLA?

In your case, NEU probably will be better. You are not going to get much aid from UCLA and if you ever get in to an US med school you will need the money for the med school, most likely upfront at least 2 years in an escrow. Of those international who applied md schools only about 14% was accepted.
