UCLA vs NYU vs UCL

I’ve gotten acceptances to Economics programs at UCLA and NYU (College of Arts and Sciences) and an unconditional offer from UCL for BA Economics and Business with East European Studies. Although I was almost certain about UCL, people’s comments about prestige of the universities and how great the Economics program is at NYU have confused me. Disregarding the financial aspect of these universities, how would you say they compare in terms of prestige, education and the future opportunities for an international (non-EU) student?

What are future plans and where?

I am not sure but probably pursuing an MBA and then going in to the business world in one of those countries or my hometown.

UCL > NYU >>>>>> UCLA .

If this was NYU Stern, then you could put UCL and NYU as possible equals but since it is cas it is clear that UCL is the #1 choice in terms of prestige and future opportunities.

UCL is regarded far better in London then NYU cas is viewed in NY. NYU Stern isn’t even the top institution for economics in NYC, it would be Columbia. While UCL is on par with LSE in reputation.

UCL is the equivalent of a lower ivy and ranked accordingly. And the people who need to know in America (business school) will know how well regarded University College London is.

(Also UCL is far cheaper and only 3 years)

@adityaaaa You are either exaggerating a little… or perhaps don’t know much about UCLA!?

OK, OP, where can you work after graduation?

And @adityaaaa, honestly, UCL is a big public, so a lot like UCLA or UMich, though it’s a city uni with no defined campus, so in that sense, it’s like NYU (which is also big).
Oxbridge, LSE, UCL, and Warwick are most recruited by the City in the UK. In the US, Oxbridge and LSE would be seen as a cut above however.
UCL is one of the top 5/6 unis in the UK, but the UK is 1/5th the size of US (so it’d be 20-35 here). I’d place it on a similar plane to UMich (and UCLA and NYU): very good in a lot of areas, but not quite Oxbridge (just like UMich/UCLA/NYU) are Near-Ivies).
