which one is easier to get into?

i know UCSD's bioengineering dept ranks really high up there...is that enough to make it harder to get into UCSD as a bioE major than getting into UCLA with the same major?

I have the same question!

It really isn’t as if one is easier than the other. I got in to UCSD for bio (9th globally) while I was wait listed at UC Davis (not even close).

Oh, and UCLA ranks one notch above UCSD for bio, actually. UCSD is ninth, UCLA is eighth.

My son got into UCSD but not into the Bioengineering Department which was his first choice. Then, just yesterday he did get accepted to UCLA in Bioengineering and was given a $10K/Year “Achievement” Scholarship; go figure, particularly since we live in San Diego county? He also got into UC Davis and is waiting on his reach schools, Stanford and Columbia (I guess you never know…).
