UCLA vs. UCSD Regents

I’m trying to decide between UCLA and Regent Scholars at UCSD. The main selling point for me at UCSD is the priority enrollment, which I wouldn’t get at UCLA. So my first question is: How much of an effect does having priority enrollment have on choosing classes and how do students at UCLA without priority enrollment fare during that process? Also, my major at UCLA is Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution and at UCSD its Physiology and Neuroscience (Muir College). My second question is: What is the difference between taking these two majors as a prospective veterinarian or medical school candidate? I would really appreciate any advice on this. Thank you!

Priority enrollment is a game changer at UCSD. I’ve been waitlisted only once here in three quarters, but even that’s a hassle and many people aren’t that lucky. Regents’ Scholars also get a ton of attention from administrators and faculty. Medical schools accept students from any major and don’t hold that against you; that said, Physiology and a Neuroscience might prepare you for the MCAT and med school marginally better.
